Cambodia opposition party disbands, says ‘there is no reason for us to continue to oppose the leadership of Samdech Techo and the CPP’

The Chairman, Vice Chairman and 9 members of the Standing Committee of the Khmer Patriotic Party have today issued a joint statement on the dissolution of their party because they do not want to oppose PM Hun Sen and the Cambodian People’s Party
In the statement, the Khmer Patriotic Party stated that the reason for the dissolution of the Khmer Patriotic Party was because it saw that under the leadership of PM Hun Sen, Cambodia has peace, development and future.
They party added that, the amendment of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Cambodia yesterday clearly shows the consideration of the interests of the nation as a whole.
They further stated that “Therefore, there is no reason for us to continue to oppose the leadership of Samdech Techo and the CPP.”
The Khmer Patriotic Party calls on members of the Board of Directors and members of the Khmer Patriotic Party and members of the opposition to join the CPP to contribute to building the country together.
