Six Myanmar companies to take trophies in ASEAN Business Awards 2014 By Thiha Ko Ko Mizzima News Oct 13, 2014 Six Myanmar companies will receive awards in a ceremony at the ASEAN Business Awards 2014 that aims to promote public-private partnerships and consultation to assist in the integration of the ASEAN Economic Community by 2015. ASEAN Business Advisory Council member U Wai Phyo told Mizzima October 12, six excellent Myanmar companies will be awarded at the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit 2014 to be hosted by Myanmar November 11 in Nay Pyi Taw. The six companies will be among other candidates from ASEAN countries that will be awarded in six categories, namely corporate excellence, innovation, ASEAN Centrality, micro, small and medium enterprises, young entrepreneurs, and woman leaders. Myanmar’s six companies will be picked from 26 candidates, with a total of 121 companies in ASEAN competing. U Wai Phyo, who is also chairman of the Myanmar Young Entrepreneurs Association, said, “The six best companies among 26 candidate companies were selected as national champions to be able to participate in the six sectors of the contest together with other companies in the region.” The winners will be announced shortly, he added. http://mizzima.com/
