Indonesia is Market Focus Country at the London Book Fair 2019

The 12 authors represent the diversity of Indonesia’s literary sector

LONDON, UK: Indonesia  has been selected for the Market Focus Programme at The London Book Fair (LBF), offering the unique opportunity to bring Indonesia’s rich literary and cultural heritage to the UK. In partnership with The London Book Fair and the British Council

Taking place from 12-14 March, LBF 2019 will celebrate the best of contemporary Indonesian literature. Based around the prominent Market Focus Indonesia stand at the fair, the professional programme showcases Indonesia’s publishing trade, facilitating the sale of Indonesian rights and content to international publishers.

In conjunction, a longer programme of cross-cultural activity runs before, throughout and after LBF, developed by the British Council in partnership with Indonesia’s National Organizing Committee.

The London Book Fair Cultural Programme showcases events to meet authors and hear them discuss their work in front of international audiences across the UK throughout February, March and April.

The 12 authors chosen for the cultural programme represent the diversity of Indonesia’s literary sector, reflecting the multiple regions, religions, genres and ages of Indonesian culture and society.

The writers are: Agustinus Wibowo, Clara Ng, Dewi Lestari, Faisal Oddang, Intan Paramaditha, Laksmi Pamuntjak,  Leila S. Chudori, Nirwan Dewanto,  Norman Erikson Pasaribu, Reda Gaudiamo, Seno Gumira Ajidarma, and Sheila Rooswitha Putri
