JAPAN MATSURI 2025 / LONDON

LONDON – JAPAN MATSURI, the UK’s much-loved and biggest
annual festival of Japanese culture and food,
was held on Sunday 21 September in Trafalgar Square, London.

Japan Matsuri is a free annual celebration of Japanese culture; expect music, magic, dance, tasty eats, martial arts demonstrations, games and activities.

The opening ceremony started with Joji Hirota and The London Taiko Drummers with Japanese traditional and contemporary taiko drumming, Japan Matsuri song IBUKI / Naomi Suzuki with Chelsea Kodomo no Hiroba & Young Stars, followed by a Mikoshi Procession (Provided by Teikyo School United Kingdom)

Now in its fourteenth year, the iconic festival served up street food and Izakaya-style small plates from a range of Japanese restaurants

JAPAN MATSURI has established itself as a symbol of the long-standing bonds (Kizuna 絆) between Japan and the UK.
