LONDON – On September 10, 2025,  the Embassy of Japan in London, in collaboration with Sake Samurai, hosted a celebratory sake tasting event at the Embassy.

The event brought together esteemed sake brewers who received awards in the Sake category of this year’s International Wine Challenge (IWC), along with guests including the Rt Hon. the Viscount Trenchard DL, Co-Chair of the British-Japanese Parliamentary Group, professionals from the UK’s hospitality and business sectors and other sake enthusiasts.
 
Ambassador Hiroshi Suzuki opened the event by congratulating the award-winning breweries on their outstanding achievements at the IWC. He also expressed his sincere appreciation for the dedication of Sake Samurai and the local sake industry stakeholders in promoting sake

 “Shichiken Hakushin,” a sake from Yamanashi Prefecture, central Japan, was awarded this year’s top prize of the sake division at the Champion Sake award at the International Wine Challenge, one of the world’s biggest wine competitions.a renowned annual international wine competition held in London on Sepetmber 9, 2025.
