Heartbreaking Story of 8-Year-Old Cambodian Girl Sparks Immediate Support from Official

PHNOM PENH — A report by Cambodianess spotlighting the life of 8-year-old Threa Chandara Vimean has prompt a top official to provide assistance

Vimean, living in Bosbov Commune, Samraong City, is 8 years old. She is currently in Grade 2.

Vimean currently lives under the care of relatives while her father serves on the frontlines in the Ta Moan Thom Temple and her mother works in Preah Sihanouk Province.

Brigadier General Ly Darith, Commander of the National Gendarmerie in Oddar Meanchey Province, delivered essential supplies on behalf of General Sao Sokha, commander of National Gendarmerie. The aid included rice, food, clean drinking water, school supplies, and a bicycle.

While on assignment covering border situation, reporters from Thmey Thmey and Cambodianess came across the young girl walking home alone from school. Moved by her story, they shared her struggles with the public.
