MALAYSIA’S LARGEST GATHERING OF INDIGENOUS PEOPLES IS BACK!

The national-level World Indigenous Peoples Day Celebrations is Malaysia’s biggest annual gathering of Indigenous communities, bringing together Orang Asal from across the country.

This year’s event will be held on 8-9 August at the scenic Tadom Hill Resorts in Banting, Selangor.

Highlights of the Event include cultural performances celebrating Indigenous heritage, traditional sports and games, demonstration of indigenous cuisine, forum on Orang Asal issues, showcase of traditional costumes, award ceremony for the JOAS Photo & Video Competition winners, and discussions on rights, challenges and issues.

Over 150 Orang Asal representatives from the JOAS networks in Sabah, Sarawak, and Peninsular Malaysia will participate in this two-day celebration.

The event is open to the public on Saturday, 9 August 2025, the actual date of the World Indigenous Peoples Day.
