Cherry Blossom Hanami in Regent’s Park   

LONDON – A Cherry Blossom Hanami was held at Regent’s Park, Thursday 10 April, with HE Ambassador Suzuki Hiroshi and Westminster City Council Cllr Robert Rigby in attendance.

The event also featured a taiko performance, and singing of ‘Sakura Sakura’

Following the event, a reception was held at the nearby Daiwa Foundation, with refreshments, as well as performances of Koto and Shakuhachi.

Since 2019, the Sakura Cherry Tree Project has been distributing over 8,000 trees throughout the United Kingdom to parks, gardens and schools. As of February 2025, over 1,000 parks, gardens and schools have been identified as planting locations, and are participating in this project.

The event was organised by the Sakura Cherry Tree Project.
