PHNOM PENH – Prime Minister Hun Sen has called on his fellow Cambodians to continue supporting and using local products with the slogan ‘a Cambodian uses at least one Cambodian product’.

Hun Sen made the encouragement in his recent open message to cheer the National Day for the Promotion of the Use of Khmer Products (April 9) themed ‘Supporting Khmer Products to Preserve National Economy’.

The 5th of its kind, the event has been led by the National Committee for the Promotion of One Village, One Product in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce.

According to Hun Sen, the initiative continues to play a vital role in supporting local producers to further renovate their products with more added value, better quality, safety and attractive presentation to be competitive in both domestic and international markets.

In the message, he advised concerned players to expand the promotion of the local products, including the cooperation with the private sector to secure online market places for them.

He also laid stress on extensive networking and collaboration across all fronts and more capacity building for local producers to ensure its high competitiveness.

The Prime Minister hopes the event will become a sustained Khmer-supports-Khmer spirit to leverage the use of Khmer products. Lim Nary – AKP
