PHNOM PENH – NagaWorld’s corporate social responsibility arm, NagaWorld Kind Hearts, has donated $100,000 in food to Phnom Penh City Hall. The food supplies are for communities struggling with the latest impact brought upon by the COVID-19 outbreak.
To curb the increasing number of COVID-19 cases, Phnom Penh went into lockdown on April 15th, and several high-risk areas were identified as red zones. Residents in the red zones are prohibited to leave their homes except for medical emergencies. All open-air markets were closed to help contain the surge of cases as well. With these regulations in place, many families in the red zones were concerned with maintaining their food supplies.
Each food package per family will consist of a 25kg bag of rice, 30 packets of instant noodles, 10 cans of sardines, 6 bottles of fish sauce, and 6 bottles of soy sauce. The total amount donated would be sufficient to feed 3,500 families in the most affected areas.
