Japan provides additional $483,000 to support projects in Cambodia

The Japanese Government has agreed to provide $483,204 in total to supports some projects in five provinces, under the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (KUSANONE Grant).

According to a press release from the Embassy of Japan in Phnom Penh, this fund will be used for installing water hyacinth bioethanol equipment at Kampong Chhnang Provincial Department of Environment, constructing one maternity ward at Toul Health Centre in Mondulkiri province, building one inpatient ward at Chhep Health Centre in Preah Vihear province, providing a mobile clinic vehicle in Siem Reap province, and installing medical equipment at Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship Infirmary in Preah Sihanouk province.

MIKAMI Masahiro, Ambassador of Japan and representatives of the five recipient organisations signed their contracts respectively.

“We believe that these grants will enhance the quality of life for people in each project area,” he said.

With an effort to contain the current “COVID-19 Community Outbreak”, known as “February 20 Community Event”, both sides signed the grant contract separately. Heng Panha – AKP
