Cambodian foreign minister attends IAMM via videoconference

Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, participated in the Informal ASEAN Ministerial Meeting (IAMM), held on Mar. 2, 2021 via videoconference.
The participation was made at the invitation of DATO ERYWAN PEHIN YUSOF, Minister of Foreign Affairs II of Brunei Darussalam.
According to a press release of the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFA-IC) AKP, the Ministers had an extensive in-depth heart-to-heart discussion on ASEAN Community building efforts and further enhancement of progress, how to strengthen and expand ASEAN external relations and the need to consolidate ASEAN centrality in the evolving regional architecture.
They also concurred on the urgency to intensify ASEAN’s joint efforts to successfully implement the agreed initiatives and measures to respond to COVID-19 pandemic and recover from its socio-economic impacts.
Moreover, the Ministers exchanged views on regional and international issues of common interest and concern, including on the current developments in Myanmar. C. Nika – AKP
