PHNOM PENH – A Japanese whiskey and beer themed festival is set to be hosted this Saturday in the heart of popular Toul Tom Poung. The festival will boast a range of spirits from Japan for attendees to try.

In Cambodia, growing affluence among Cambodia’s young population is spurring demand for the imported liquor, say festival organisers Long After Dark.

“Japan is home to some of the best whiskey distilleries in the world. The quality and breadth of food and beverage products coming out of Japan means that these products are increasingly popular here in Cambodia.” it added.

The Japanese whiskey market alone is expected to reach $1.1 billion globally by 2025 according to market analysts Grand View Research, who also report that the Asia Pacific continues to lead the market for Japanese whiskey.
