Handover Ceremony of 37 Lower Secondary Schools in 4 provinces in Laos by JICA

The Project for Improving Secondary School Environment in the Central and Southern Provinces in Laos which has provided the construction and improvement of 37 lower secondary schools in 4 provinces (Khammouane, Savannakhet, Salavan, and Champasack) since 2017 is finally completed.
The handover ceremony was celebrated in Ban Phine Lower Secondary School in Outhoumphone District, Savannakhet Province on December 30th 2020, honored by Minister of Education and Sports, Japanese Ambassador, Chief Representative of JICA Laos Office and 4 Provincial Governors with the attendance of relevant officers from Ministry of Education and Sports, Provincial Education and Sports Service, District Education and Sports Bureau, Embassy of Japan, JICA Laos Office including local school teachers and 300 students.
The Lao government’s ninth five-year plan will be starting the implementation from next year which calls for the improvement of the enrollment rate in lower secondary schools and proficiency level in secondary education.
