AUNG MYAY THAR SAN TOWNSHIP – A student of Yadanarbon University called Ko Phone Myint Kyaw, who, together with other students, was sentenced to seven years in prison for anti-war activities, was arrested by police from Aung Myay Thar San Township of Mandalay Region on the afternoon of 5 January.

Phone Myint Kyaw was arrested by No. 5 Police Station of Aung Myay Thar San Township under Section 505 (a) and 505 (b) of the Penal Code; a case has been filed under Section 18 of the Nyein Su Si Law (formally the Peaceful Assembly and Procession Law).
