Indonesia Students Join Climate Crisis Protest in Jakarta

The protesters demanded the President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and all industry leaders to be more sensitive and pay more attention to the climate crisis. They also urged the government to immediately stop funding the fossil fuel industry and implement concrete action by investing in renewable energy.
They also demanded that the government protect indigenous peoples struggling to preserve their environment across the archipelago.
The protesters gather in front of the City Hall before making their way to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources building in Jalan Merdeka Selatan to perform a theatrical act in front of the ministry’s building.
