PHNOM PENH – With the current threat of COVID-19, global citizens are encouraged to embrace social distancing – a concept that may be foreign to most of us. However, in order to stop the pandemic from continuing to spread, this is the best practice that we can exercise. However, staying at home does not mean you can’t have a little fun, especially when it comes to your daily meals. To accommodate the current situation, more restaurants in the capital are offering direct delivery services and special promotions to ensure you get to enjoy good food in the comfort of your own home. Read on to find out Anith Adilah Othman’s top picks of the week.

  1. Eleven One Kitchen (Khmer & Western)

The restaurant is known for its wide array of fresh homemade food, made entirely from the best of seasonal local produce. A favourite among locals and expats, it was also the first restaurant in Phnom Penh that demonstrated commitment to sustainability by embracing the 99 percent plastic-free concept. The eatery is proud to offer a Khmer, Western and fusion menu, such as beef loklak with rice, stir-fried beef with red tree ants, fish amok burger and mango sticky rice at affordable prices. Now, customers can enjoy delicious, comfort food without having to head over to Eleven One Kitchen’s Boeung Keng Kang or Russian Market branch.

Nom Nom offers a selection of low calorie, low carb, high protein, paleo and keto meals that change every day. The service releases a weekly menu for customers to order in advance. This way, you will never find yourself contemplating what’s for lunch or dinner anymore. When the time comes, you just need to open the door and get the food from its efficient riders. In adjusting to the current situation, Nom Nom has also made sure its current menu is nutrient-rich as a way to boost its customers’ immune systems. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options are available.

How to order: Head on over to its Facebook page to check out the weekly menu and submit your order before 6pm on Saturday. For further information, call 087 779 621.

  1. Yantra Restaurant (Indian)

Yantra. Supplied

There is a reason why Indian food is so popular across the globe. A lot of TLC is put into each dish and the way spices are harmoniously married on a single plate just warms our hearts (and bellies). Luckily for you, this Tonle Bassac-based restaurant is offering 20 percent off its food menu, on top of free delivery service for a limited period. What are you waiting for? Your favourite aloo gobi, chicken biryani, tikka masala and are just one phone call away now.
