A three-day “Myitkyina Road Show” held from November 13 to 15 this week highlighted the American government’s commitment to the people of Kachin State.
Over the three days US Ambassador Scot Marciel and representatives from the U.S. Embassy visited Kachin State, including Myitkyina, to announce a new agriculture programme, open an Embassy Jobs and Opportunities Fair open to all, and lead a workshop for local organizations to address drug dependency.
In addition to meeting with leaders in government, business, and the community, Ambassador Marciel met with veterans who fought with the United States in World War II.
