Malaysia named Asia’s Leading Destination in World Travel Awards 2015

LONDON – The 22nd World Travel Awards have revealed the winners in Asia, with Malaysia named as Leading Destination.
In a release published yesterday, the World Travel Awards have revealed a list of winners for the Asian region. Not only did Malaysia come away with Leading Destination, but Tourism Malaysia also won Leading Tourist Board.
Leading Airline was awarded to Singapore Airlines, Leading Hotel in Asia was won by Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel based in Shanghai, China. Shanghai’s airport also came out on top, and China’s Fuchun Resort was named Leading Resort.
The results were announced during a gala ceremony on Thursday, October 29, and the winners will go on to compete against destinations worldwide in the Grand Final, to be held in Morocco in December.
